Weird True Love: A Printable

Posted on

Well, I was returning yesterday from the Target pharmacy where I had stopped to pick up Monkey’s acid reflux medicine.  Bless his little heart, he is the happiest of babies, but he does spit up, and sometimes it makes him quite uncomfortable.  As I was walking back to my car, I saw a quote written on the windshield of someone’s car.  It read:

“We’re all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness—and call it love—true love.”

The quote was attributed to Dr. Seuss.  I was struck by the quote, as I had also been shopping for Valentine’s Day cards for MM.  The idea of mutually satisfying weirdness was amusing to me somehow.  It reminded me of something Sheldon Cooper might say.  We love The Big Bang Theory around here, Frog and I watch it religiously…  I even have a shirt that proclaims that I am a member of Sheldon Cooper’s Council of Ladies!

As soon as I got home from Target, I looked up the quote using Google and the search term “Dr. Seuss Weird Love,” and believe it or not that was one of the common search terms.  Interestingly however, the quote has apparently been falsely attributed to him.  It was actually a quote from Robert Fulghum’s book, True Love.  (He’s the guy who taught us that everything that we need to know we learned in kindergarten.)

I decided to make this quote into a Valentine’s Day printable, and teach myself how to make a chevron pattern in Photoshop.  I was surprised at how easy it was!  Now that I’ve got it, you’ll be seeing more chevron patterned printables from me!
